We took the show on the road for our latest podcast, heading to Iron Springs Pub & Brewery in Fairfax to host two local acts, the Dolly Mamas and Rob Hotchkiss.
Many of you will be familiar with Rob from the band Train where he wrote such hits as “”Meet Virginia,” “I Am” and the Grammy award winning smash “Drops of Jupiter.” Rob treated us to a Bob Dylan cover, a couple of his own tunes and ended with a surprise version of the Train classic “Calling All Ages.”
The Dolly Mamas are Marquesa Versola, Rebecca Chourré & Liz Pisco, three working moms from Fairfax whose love of music brought them together to record the album “Labyrinth” which we were happy to help launch. They delivered a lovely set of songs with beautiful harmonies and were even joined by Rob Hotchkiss for a flawless cover of “I Shall Be Release
Come celebrate the sound of Fairfax with two awesome local acts! The show is FREE but please RSVP here and bring along as many friends as you like!
The Dolly Mamas are three friends who love to sing and create music together. They each lend their unique and versatile voices and musical experience to this vocal harmony trio. Performing original songs as well as well arranged cover music, The Dolly Mamas are a treat to watch and listen to and are delighted to release their debut album “Labyrinth.”
Rob Hotchkiss Was a founding member of Train. He won a Grammy Award (Best Rock Song) for five-time nominated Drops of Jupiter, and was the musical force behind hits such as Meet Virginia, Free, I Am, and Get to Me. Rob’s songwriting was integral to their multi-platinum success. For creative reasons Rob left Train after their third album to record and produce his solo album, Midnight Ghost, which received tremendous critical acclaim. Rob’s classic sound, with meaningful lyrics, beautiful melodies, and lush harmonies, has been likened to The Beatles, early Bowie, Neil Young, and Ed Sheeran.
