With Jerry Day approaching August 6th we got Grahame Lesh of Midnight North, David Gans of the Grateful Dead Hour and longtime Dead publicist Dennis McNally together to celebrate. Please enjoy an hour and a half of blissful tunes, wonderful conversation and good laughs too.
Our Pride special was everything it should have been; celebratory, poignant, political and downright hilarious. Monica Pasquel & the Handsome Brunettes kicked things off with a few tunes, highlighted by the beautiful song of resistance “You Can’t Kill Light.” They were followed by the always funny Tony Bravo from the San Francisco Chronicle who gave his review of Pride, talked about the importance of journalism during these times and his fierce opposition to Katy Perry’s “Swish-Swish.” Blame Sally rounded the lovely evening off with their gorgeous harmonies and charming stories both musical and otherwise. Thanks for listening to this special show.
This show was so much fun with great music and laughs throughout. Renee’s dog Rocco even makes an appearance, his flatulence actually disrupting proceeding for a moment! Our old pals San Geronimo brought their brand of California psychedelic country soul to Amado’s ably supported by Shoring from Portland Oregon making their triumphant return. The whole show started out with Chris Nauman, a doctor from the East Bay who moonlights as a charming singer-songwriter. Enjoy!
Matt Jaffe & the Distractions perform live and bring their friend Jerry Harrison along to talk about his time in the Modern Lovers and Talking Heads. Jerry also sat in with the band and played some old favorites like the Velvet Underground’s “White Light/White Heat,” his own hit “Rev it Up” and closed the night out with “Life During Wartime.” What a treat!
Nicki Bluhm and Alexis Harte perform solo and together including “No Wrong Way Home” from the Oscar nominated animated-short “Pearl.” Nicki sings her latest single “Remember Love Wins”, a vinyl release with all proceeds going to Stand with Standing Rock and Planned Parenthood and also an acapella version of the blues song “Strange Man”, a tune made popular by the Grateful Dead.
A hilarious podcast full of music and craic with Eoin Harrington, the Quiet Men and groundbreaking Irish TRAP (Traditional Irish Rap) duo Take Her Easy E & Fifty Pence, founding members of South Centra.
We had a total blast spending an hour with recently who regaled us with hilarious stories from the road, how he wrote one of the 90’s biggest hits and played, among others, his newest song “Hey God, I’ll Trade You Trump For Leonard Cohen”. Enjoy the podcast and please tell all your friends about the show,
