Our Pride special was everything it should have been; celebratory, poignant, political and downright hilarious. Monica Pasquel & the Handsome Brunettes kicked things off with a few tunes, highlighted by the beautiful song of resistance “You Can’t Kill Light.” They were followed by the always funny Tony Bravo from the San Francisco Chronicle who gave his review of Pride, talked about the importance of journalism during these times and his fierce opposition to Katy Perry’s “Swish-Swish.” Blame Sally rounded the lovely evening off with their gorgeous harmonies and charming stories both musical and otherwise. Renee & Irish Greg’s Pop UP! Episode #18: San Geronimo, Shoring & Chris Nauman Perform Live

This show was so much fun with great music and laughs throughout. Renee’s dog Rocco even makes an appearance, his flatulence actually disrupting proceeding for a moment! Our old pals San Geronimo brought their brand of California psychedelic country soul to Amado’s ably supported by Shoring from Portland Oregon making their triumphant return. The whole show started out with Chris Nauman, a doctor from the East Bay who moonlights as a charming singer-songwriter. Enjoy!

Matt Jaffe & the Distractions perform live and bring their friend Jerry Harrison along to talk about his time in the Modern Lovers and Talking Heads. Jerry also sat in with the band and played some old favorites like the Velvet Underground’s “White Light/White Heat,” his own hit “Rev it Up” and closed the night out with “Life During Wartime.” What a treat!
