Our second kid’s show was a roaring success because of the wonderful guests we had; Frances England, Reid Genauer and the Bumpity Bumps. All are accomplished musicians in their own right and know their way into the musical heart of a child. They alaohave a loose connection through the Sunset Co-Op Nursery School in the Outer Sunset district of San Francisco. 

Renee & Irish Greg’s Pop UP! Episode #9: Cookies’n’Beer w/ Lucas Ohio Pattie and Greg Loiacono

It was a wet, wild but ultimately wonderful night at Amado’s on Tuesday 1/10 as we had a show dedicated to cookies’n’beer for some unknown reason. Hey, it’s early January and we needed a reason to get folks to come out so we offered delicious free suds and tasty artisan baked goods. Thanks so much to Lloyd Knight who got things started with his cover of the great song “I Like Beer” Watch Lloyd’s performance here. We were also joined by Lucas Ohio Pattie who sang a few songs,  Chris Joseph from Homestead Cookies, Shaun O’Sullivan from our sponsor’s 21st Amendment and finally Greg Loiacono from the Mother Hips who, along with his friend Alex performed a bunch of cool tunes.

Another wonderful night was had at Amado’s on Tuesday 12/27 as we kissed off the horrible year that was 2016 with a musical tribute to those we lost over the past 12 months. We had beautiful performance by Mullerette and Jeff Campbell and the San Francisco Chronicle’s Tony Bravo remembered those that passed away with charm, wit and grace.

This episode was a very special show dedicated to Dawn Holliday, the long time booker and manager of Slim’s, the Great American Music Hall and Hardly Strictly Bluegrass. She decided to celebrate her birthday with us at Amado’s with her longtime friend Jonathan Richman performing live and a host of guests in attendance including Jello Biafra, Chuck Prophet, Mark Kozelek and many many more.
