Beloved Bay Area songsters the Family Crest will release their latest album The War: Act I on April 6th. We’re delighted to have them perform a stipped down informal set at the Haight Street Art Center on Wednesday April 18th. The band, who’ve been around since 2009, were named #13 on Paste‘s “Best New Bands of 2014″ list and proclaimed NPR Music’s “Favorite New Artist of 2014.” Not only are they wonderful musicians, they’re great storytellers and a ton of fun to hang out with. Watch this awesome video for their new single Never Gonna Stop.
And we’re equally thrilled to have Mira Goto open the show. Mira is a Northern California native who splits her time between Santa Cruz and Nashville. There’ll be a new album from Mira in the coming months but in the meantime, please enjoy her gorgeous version of Fleetwood Mac’s Landslide.
As usual there’ll be complimentary drinks courtesy of 21st Amendment Brewery and Whetstone Wine Cellars at our 6-7pm happy hour. While sipping your adult beverages you’ll get to enjoy the exhibit ARTIFACTS: The Rock Art of EMEK – A Career Retrospective. Emek has created much coveted posters for musicians such as Radiohead, Death Cab for Cutie, The Pixies and Paul Simon.
